GP – Lochinch Practice

Lochinch Practice are looking to take on a new Salaried GP to work between 5-9 sessions per week in a very friendly practice of approximately 3000 patients. We are currently a practice run by Dumfries and Galloway Health Board.
Currently there are 1.2 FTE partners working in this mixed rural / urban practice. We also have Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant and attached District Nursing, Health Visitor and Midwifery colleagues. In addition we have the help of Locum Doctors.
The modern purpose build Medical Centre is shared with 2 other practices.
We use EMIS PCS, operate a modified “Doctors First” appointment system which means we are able to see almost all patients on the day of their choice and consistently achieved almost full QOF points.
Stranraer is a superb location for all outdoor activities and the post would be suitable for a couple who wish to job share.
There are currently opportunities for additional work in the other practices or OOH and we have a close working relationship with the Doctors and staff in the local community hospital.

|Details||Shebburn Medical Practice is situated in the historic and picturesque village of New Abbey, 7 miles from the town of Dumfries in South West Scotland (BBC Countryfile Destination of the Year 2016).

Church Place Surgery are seeking a GP. Getting the right individual is important to us therefore we are flexible with regards to how this can be accomplished. All staff and GPs work on a part-time basis and we believe that achieving a work/life balance is important. Moffat, which is based in Dumfries and Galloway in south west Scotland, is the ideal place to realise that vision. With a one hour commute to both Glasgow and Edinburgh and approximately 50 minutes to Carlisle we are ideally placed. Dumfries and Galloway was awarded “Holiday destination of the year 2015-16” by the BBC’s Countryfile. It’s also not a bad place to work!
We are a small, friendly team with big ideas! The Practice has been in existence since 1950 so we are well established. However we are continually exploring new ways of developing and input on how we can enhance the patient experience is always welcome.
We have been in discussions with the Health Board and our neighbouring Practice to explore the possibility of a merger. Although this is in the early stages we all believe that this is the way forward, enabling us to offer a more complete service to our patients involving a multi-disciplinary approach.
